He cut out the area of the crowd and in an image editer, probably ImageReady, moved the cut out area up and down some odd pixels in every frame in the timeline. Then put the output as a continuous .gif

I think it's cute, but it'd be better if each person was cut out so that everyone wasn't jumping at the same time =) And since everyone is faced in a certain direction, I would like to see exactly what they're staring at - like the Dj booth if it is an electronica event.

cute. they arent actually jumping, just stretching as their feet never leave the ground, lol.
starqueen, yeah it would be nice if they were all individually cut out...imagine how much work that would take. and imagine how many layers, lol
